This UI/UX concept for a noodle restaurant was created as part of a 4 month online specialisation course from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). The project started off from conceptualisation, moving on to requirements and customer journey profiles. I then created a detailed sitemap and low-fidelity wireframe in order to scope out the structure and layout of the website concept.
After the initial UX process, I began to scope out the UI design and graphic assets for the project. In order to create a fresh, fun and student-focused aesthetic, I opted for a bold, illustration-driven design with a stylish base gradient and custom icons, along with a hungry dragon to act as a character for the brand and add extra personality. Finally, the creation of a simple, modern logo design (with an elongated ‘I’ to represent a noodle) worked to offset the bright and unconventional design style.
